MicroMill: The micromill is a compact 4 headed chipping canter that feeds to a double arbor breakdown saw. The mill is set up on the link mill system where log sorts are pre manufactured by length and diameter and then milled in runs. It is an efficient and effective method to manufacture small diameter logs into 4x4, 4x6, 6x6 and 6x8. All logs are run through a 18” cambio ring debarker prior to the mill. The micromill targets hemlock and Dfir as it primary species and produces product in 8, 10 and 12ft lengths. 1” boards in 6 and 8 inch widths are generated when we do our 4x6 and 6x8 runs. These boards are excellent for fencing, pallet stock and roof strapping. Byproducts from the milling processes go into wood chips and hog.
Bandmill: Woodco operates two select 6” double cut bandmills. These bandmills are configured to cut larger timber products. Side lumber in 2 and 3 inch dimensions is slabbed and run through our board edger to generate various widths and grades. The bandmill can cut logs from 12” to 38” in lengths of 8-20ft. All logs are debarked on a Rosser Head style debarker and first cut slabs and edger waste are run through a slab chipper to manufacture pulp wood chips and hog material.
